CCSLS IS MOVING!

We are excited to announce that we are moving to a new location at the JFKU Counseling Center building in Concord. We hope to complete our relocation by early to mid-September. Our new offices will be more centrally located in the county, convenient to BART and thus, more accessible to our clients.  Look for our announcements about the Open House to follow.

Capital Fund Drive: We need your help to make this relocation possible.  CCSLS will need to raise $25,000 for capital improvements to the new office.
Please consider supporting CCSLS with your tax deductible donation.

VISIT OUR DROP-IN SELF HELP CLINIC IN MARTINEZ

CCSLS operates a drop-in clinic for seniors in coordination with the Contra Costa Superior Court.  The Clinic is open every Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon at the Family Law Building in Martinez (751 Pine St. 2nd Floor Conference Room, Martinez CA 94553)  Seniors who are representing themselves in court can use this free service for assistance with elder abuse restraining orders, conservatorships of the person, landlord/tenant cases, as well as with Small Claims cases.

ATTEND OUR CONSERVATORSHIP WORKSHOP

We conduct a workshop on the first Monday of the month at the Peter Spinetta Family Law Center, 751 Pine Street, Martinez, CA 94553.  We discuss the various types of conservatorships and their uses.  We also give an overview of the process for becoming a conservator.  Finally, we discuss the forms and provide a manual to guide you through the process.  (This workshop can be taken in conjunction with that offered at the Contra Costa Law Library which provides more in-depth training on the duties and responsibilities of a conservator.)  The workshop for September will be held on September 9 due to the holiday.

CONSULT AN ATTORNEY AND WILLS CLINICS

CCSLS coordinates with many local senior centers to offer consultations with lawyers and assistance with simple wills.  You may view the current programs here (or by clicking on the "Resources" tab, above).
